Close up of Ultrasonic Navigation System

This is a close up video of my earlier project using ultrasonic range finders to navigate space without sight. The unbalanced motor vibrates with greater intensity as the bottle is placed closer to the ultrasonic emitter/receiver. This allows me to determine the distance as well as the general shape of an object, using only tactile information. The project was built to emulate the way bats navigate through their environments.
